Waterfowl work takes place in more than a university lab. It includes a refuge manager planning the season, a habitat crew carrying out that plan, agency and NGO staff, educators, and students learning how to ask useful questions in the field.
The Research & Management Partner track makes room for those roles in the Conservation Partner Program. The name reflects the people the program is intended to serve: those studying waterfowl and those caring for the birds and the places they depend on.
A place for your work.
Researchers and students can apply, as can wildlife, habitat, land, and refuge managers, agency and conservation staff, and educators. Applications are reviewed individually. Tell us your affiliation, the kind of work you do, and how you would use the program.
A project title and CV or supporting link are optional. The application gives us context for a partner relationship; it does not ask you to develop a study just to order coffee.
Practical partner ordering.
Approved Research & Management Partners receive 12.5% off eligible one-time coffee purchases, applied automatically at checkout. They also receive access to the partner portal, bulk quote requests, and the Research Fund Flight.
Qualifying bulk coffee is priced at 20% below retail through a quote and invoice. Minimum quantities apply per SKU: 12 bags of 12 oz, 12 bags of 1 lb, six bags of 2 lb, or one 5 lb bag. A request gives us the information needed to confirm the order and shipping before invoicing. Bulk pricing is not an automatic 20% reduction in the regular cart.
The Flight offers 2 oz tasting bags, with a 12-bag minimum, for partners who want to compare coffees. Whether the order is for your own mornings or a shared pot, start with the format and quantity you can use.
Partner approval and research grants.
The Research & Management Partner application is separate from a student research-grant proposal. Partner approval does not award a grant or change the grant selection process.
The Research Fund supports undergraduate and graduate students conducting field-based waterfowl research, with awards of $250. Its eligibility and proposal requirements remain specific to that purpose. The Research Fund page explains the funding model and directs students to the current call information.
Partner discounts do not reduce that funding allocation. Every regular coffee bag still contributes $1. The ordering program and the research grants have different purposes, connected by the coffee that helps fund the work.
