When the fund pool reaches the $250 threshold, a Call for Proposals opens. Submissions are reviewed while the call is open. Award announcements are posted publicly as grants are issued.

Once the pool hits $250, a Call for Proposals opens. Eligible students can submit a proposal.

Step 03 · Award + transparency

Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. The recipient, project title, and amount are posted publicly.

ELIGIBILITY

Who can apply

Applicants must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student during the proposed work period. Projects must be conservation-relevant and tied to field-based research, monitoring, or habitat work involving waterfowl or wetlands.

ELIGIBLE EXPENSES

What we fund

Field supplies, monitoring materials, scouting and tech essentials, field travel, conference travel and registration, data and mapping, and other direct field expenses tied to the project.

REVIEW PROCESS

How we evaluate

Proposals are evaluated on scientific merit, conservation impact, feasibility within budget and timeline, and direct connection to fieldwork and deliverables.
